Its a hefty unit, about 12 pounds or more I would say, looks to be quality built (as most denon stuff is). The only belt I noticed in it is for the opening/closing of the tray.
Unlike the other DRS decks (which also had the horizontal loading tray) it has 3 heads instead of 2, and a 4 motor transport. Obviously 810 being the top of the line model. Not sure yet Curt, but from what I read the DRS line of denon Cassettes is their top of the line series. Not trying to flame here, but I'm not familiar with that Denon model. A super nice deck, but is it all that compared to say a Nak 3 head unit? got it for $50 shipped so it was a better buy Jeez, I'm gone for a couple hours and look what happens.,LOLīought a Denon DRS-640 off ebay thats all banged up, but its US, it works, and has the transformer and power cord I need, and it will still all be denon. OK, well there are others on eBay, either cut the plug off and put on the one that will fit this adapter, or I'm sure the correct AC transformer version is there on eBay somewhere. Wrong connection, its the plug end that has 2 large rectangular pins, then one more large rectangular pin, its about a 2" diameter plug I know what the parts are, as to what they are doing in this circuit, no idea Okay, I have no idea what I'm looking at. I don't think you'll find a transformer like that, and I"ll bet it has several windings on it, like 15-0-15 volts AC, and then probably some other voltage, like 10 or something stupid. Oh, if that's the case, then I'll bet it's 220 only.

Just got the deck, its a full on UK model, nothing but 230v input lolĪctually checking that out right now, no wires actually coming from the transformer, its soldered to the bottom of the board so I have to take it out and see If it's the UK/Austrailian or European model then it uses a different transformer then the US and Canada models. If it's the Asia model then it has a voltage selector switch. Will let you know what its got when it gets here matching bass boosthigh-current ei transformer, large custom capacitors. Not yet sure Curt it will be here anytime today, should be within 2 hours or so. can you fit a small 110 to 220 volt transformer within the deck? hopefully there's not too many secondaries coming out of it. If there are only two wires out of the primary of the power transformer, you'll need to find a 110 volt power transformer. Sometimes there's a tied off wire on the power transformer primary with the 110 volt tap. When I'm asking for a Model number, that doesn't mean I'm asking for a nude photo with your number on it I really dont want to buy a voltage adapter, and if I do modify the deck I would prefer to keep it looking as unmodified as possible on the outside It comes sometime today so I wanted to get an idea of what this entails. if the internals of the deck do not have a switch for the voltage, how hard is it going to be to convert it to US 110v? Bought this deck from a place in the UK, its got the 240v power cord and obviously runs on 240v.
